Fulfilling Our First Big Customer Order!

What started as a Hobby has turned into a business! In the idea for this site embroidery was an integral part of our business plan, and we recently had the opportunity to showcase our skills and capabilities with our first big customer order. The customer, a local unnamed group, placed an order for 36 polo shirts embroidered with their logo on the left chest. This order presented us with several challenges and opportunities to demonstrate our expertise in the embroidery field.

The first step in fulfilling the customer’s order was digitizing their logo to create an embroidery pattern (We’ll cover this process in a future article). Digitizing involves converting a digital image of the logo into a format that can be read by an embroidery machine. This process requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that the final embroidery pattern accurately reflects the original logo. After careful digitization, we created an embroidery pattern with 8249 stitches, capturing every detail of the customer’s logo.

Once the embroidery pattern was finalized, we began the production process. Embroidering 36 polo shirts may seem straightforward, but it requires meticulous planning and execution to ensure consistent quality across all garments. We estimated that all of the shirts would require approximately 3000 yards of thread for the entire order.

To complete the embroidery job efficiently, we utilized two of our embroidery machines, each capable of handling multiple shirts simultaneously. We captured the production process with two time-lapse videos—one from each of our machines. The first machine took approximately 21 minutes per shirt, while the second machine completed each shirt in just 15 minutes. Despite the difference in processing time, both machines delivered high-quality embroidery with crisp details and vibrant colors.

Throughout the production process, we encountered various challenges, including thread tension adjustments, thread breaks, and machine maintenance. However, we rose to each challenge to quickly address these issues, ensuring minimal disruptions to the production schedule.

In total, the embroidery job took us a total of 15 hours of machine time over a few days to complete, from digitizing the logo to stitching the final shirt. Despite the challenges, we were proud to deliver the finished garments to our customer on time and to their satisfaction. The success of this order reinforced our commitment to quality, precision, and customer service, setting the stage for future growth and opportunities in the embroidery industry.

As we reflect on our first big customer order, we are grateful for the trust and confidence placed in us by our customers. With each embroidery job, we strive to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional results that showcase the artistry and craftsmanship of our team. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers and to embarking on new and exciting embroidery projects in the future.
